      这场颁奖典礼由乡村歌手Trace Adkins和歌手兼演员Kristin Chenoweth主持，前不久刚刚拿下自己生平第一座CMA奖杯的Jason Aldean在该奖项上虏获6项大奖，成为整晚最风光的艺人。和历史更悠久的CMA、ACM相比，AMA在资历上略显年轻，也在奖项设置上显现出更加多元的特色，除了基本的男女歌手、歌曲、专辑类奖项之外，它还表彰了一些在巡演和音乐录影带方面表现上佳的艺人。
    值得注意的是，和ACM、CMA不同，AMA也提携了一些在其他两大奖项上并不太受关注的歌手，例如Chris Young和单曲成绩非凡的Thompson Squares。其中，Chris Young的单曲《Voices》获得了年度最佳单曲（综合类），而Thompson Squares的《Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not?》则获得年度最佳单曲（团体类、新人类）。
尽管刚刚举办两届，但AMA也开始规划自己的“十年艺人”奖，曾多次在ACM、CMA上获得年度艺人的Toby Keith成为AMA这个时代的代表人。
