剧情

夏安尼是一个富裕的前摇滚歌星，现在他在都柏林过着自己的无聊、乏味的退休生活。这几天，他赶急赶忙地跑回纽约，去见和自己疏远很久的父亲最后一面，可是他还是迟到了一步。但是，父亲的死并没有让夏安尼心灰意冷，因为他得知父亲早年曾经在奥斯维辛集中营遭受过非人的待遇。而且，他还知道了当年虐待自己的父亲的档位军官叫做阿洛伊斯·兰格，他现在就躲藏在美国。所以夏安尼要不惜一切代价找到兰格，为父亲“报仇”。

幕后制作
　　入围2011年第64届戛纳电影节主竞赛单元。
　　是意大利导演保罗·索伦蒂诺的首部英文对白电影。2008年，当西恩·潘在戛纳看过索伦蒂诺的影片《大牌明星》之后，就找到索伦蒂诺，并表达了自己想与之合作的愿望。随后，索伦蒂诺为西恩·潘量身打造了《为父寻仇》的剧本。索伦蒂诺说：“一方面，这部电影讲述的父子关系；另一方面，影片反思了大屠杀、罪犯和幸存者的生存，这这也是我经常思考的内容。”
